Bio

 

About Ruth

Born in New York and raised much of her early years in Texas, Ruth studied classical music and drama and earned a BA in Music from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.  She spent her post-graduate years performing on stage and starting her on camera career. She moved back to New York to continue developing her talents and perfect her performance style.  She was promptly accepted and graduated from two of New York’s most prestigious acting schools: the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the William Esper Studio where she studied the Meisner Technique. 

 

Among her acting performances she has appeared onstage in Etta Jenks with Vincent Pastore and Maureen Van Zandt, known for their work on The Sopranos, she has also recently worked on the International foreign film success, “English Vinglish”, which marked the comeback of  India’s First Lady of Film Sri Devi.  Her latest film “Divorce Texas Style”, gave her an opportunity to co-star with Daniel Baldwin. Most recently she performed Off-Broadway in “Into the Glades” a spoof on James Lapine’s “Into the Woods” picked for the 2014 NY Fringe Festival. She has also performed Off Broadway at the June Havoc Theatre with TAP NYC in a hilarious Sketch Comedy show.  

Ruth also performed in “Rancho Viejo”  at Playwrights Horizons where she originated the role of “Anita” for which she made the NY Critics Choice List.  She also performed at Radio City Music Hall in the “This is Me” Chorus for the NBC/Telemundo Spectacular.  

 

Ruth is also the recipient of an Emmy Award for her participation in the 2015 NY 1 Commercial
